Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!

Welcome to the kitchen blog of Classic Cakes & Catering by Louise! I've been baking and decorating birthday/specialty and wedding cakes well over 26 years. Finally, I found a place to post some comments and photos of some of the cakes I've made and designed. Enjoy "Classic Cakes & Catering by Louise" At the bottom of the blog (with some of my photos) you'll find links to some helpful vendors to make that occasion even more special.

Classic Cakes provides beautiful and delicious wedding cakes to hundreds of satisfied customers each year. My deliciously moist, artistic, and elegantly-designed cakes for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, and any type of special occasion will be remembered by your guests as a wonderful touch to your event. I also offer iced cookies (for wedding favors), delectable brownies, and cheesecakes. My cakes are baked with only the finest and freshest ingredients which include whole eggs, whole milk, real butter (not margarine), and pure vanilla extract! Even my renowned, and very popular buttercream icing is made with butter - not butter flavorings.

Start a tradition in your family or at your workplace by ordering beautifully decorated birthday cakes for anyone you know. There is a birthday every day of the year which means each day offers the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Classic Cake!

A baby shower cake from Classic Cakes will help set the happy tone for your baby shower. A baby shower cake does double duty as both table centerpiece and dessert! Or, you can choose customized cake squares for easy service. Allow me to custom design a cake for you - for ANY occasion!

New Additions

It's me again! I've been sooooo busy with baking so many cakes lately and I apologize for not posting more often to this blog. I've added more photos to my website of custom made cakes and wedding cakes. I'm located in North Carolina but make specialty cakes, groom's cakes, customized birthday cakes, shower cakes, cake squares, and wedding cakes for South Carolina also. I will normally travel to deliver cakes within a 100 mile radius of my home based business. Please check out my cake photo gallery of both wedding cakes and specialty cakes at http://www.passthecake.net I'll try to blog more often so you can see the latest in my cake art creations.

Thompson / Heasley Wedding

Romance & Pearls seemed to be the theme for this classic North Carolina wedding. Part of this 4-tiered wedding cake was sneaked away by the groom's family and friends to be enjoyed again later in Pensylvania.

Church / Brooks Wedding

"Anyway you want to decorate it, as long as it's square... and stacked," said the bride-to-be about the design of her Wrightsville Beach cake.

(The groom loved it so much he had 3 slices!)

Cake with bridesmaid's flowers surrounding it.

Formal & Elegant

"Formal & Elegant" are the only words to describe this square-based cake with the sleek black ribbon-like accents and lacey topper.

Stairway to Heaven

The color red was the bride's chosen hue throughout her wedding. She chose the stairway cake (with satellite cakes) for her special day to accomondate the 300+ invited guests.

Asian Themed Wedding (Blue)

This bride chose an Asian theme for her wedding. Chopsticks were added at each column, standing on additional cake pillars. A dazzing pappillion adorned the center on the base cake, a cupid on the middle tier, and red-orange Asian flowers spiraled throughout the white gazebo topper. Lily pad and votive cups surrounded the cake for the finishing touches.

Happy Fall Ya'll

This oversized pound cake features orange-colored cream cheese icing and Baby Ruth for the stem. It would be lovely as a centerpiece for the dessert table.
(Two cakes in one).

Grier / Falato Wedding

This lovely bride chose a square wedding cake design and without the traditional "Bride & Groom" cake topper. She gave me permission to design it any way I wanted. I used her chosen florist for the flowers and designed the topper to make it a little taller.
