Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!

Welcome to the kitchen blog of Classic Cakes & Catering by Louise! I've been baking and decorating birthday/specialty and wedding cakes well over 26 years. Finally, I found a place to post some comments and photos of some of the cakes I've made and designed. Enjoy "Classic Cakes & Catering by Louise" At the bottom of the blog (with some of my photos) you'll find links to some helpful vendors to make that occasion even more special.

Church / Brooks Wedding

"Anyway you want to decorate it, as long as it's square... and stacked," said the bride-to-be about the design of her Wrightsville Beach cake.

(The groom loved it so much he had 3 slices!)

Formal & Elegant

"Formal & Elegant" are the only words to describe this square-based cake with the sleek black ribbon-like accents and lacey topper.

Stairway to Heaven

The color red was the bride's chosen hue throughout her wedding. She chose the stairway cake (with satellite cakes) for her special day to accomondate the 300+ invited guests.

Asian Themed Wedding (Blue)

This bride chose an Asian theme for her wedding. Chopsticks were added at each column, standing on additional cake pillars. A dazzing pappillion adorned the center on the base cake, a cupid on the middle tier, and red-orange Asian flowers spiraled throughout the white gazebo topper. Lily pad and votive cups surrounded the cake for the finishing touches.

Happy Fall Ya'll

This oversized pound cake features orange-colored cream cheese icing and Baby Ruth for the stem. It would be lovely as a centerpiece for the dessert table.
(Two cakes in one).
